The Holy Spirit has the Characteristics of Personality:
1. The Holy Spirit has a Will: 1 Corinthians 12:11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually just as He wills. (NASB) Matthew 28:19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. 2 Corinthians 13:14 May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
2. The Holy Spirit has a Mind: Romans 8:27 And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will. (NIV)
3. The Holy Spirit grieves: Ephesians 4:30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Isaiah 63:10 Yet they rebelled and grieved his Holy Spirit. So he turned and became their enemy and he himself fought against them.
4. The Holy Spirit gives joy: Luke 10: 21 At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure."
The Holy Spirit is the third Member of the Trinity – God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit aka the Holy Ghost.
He was present in the Trinity before the beginning of everything that was.

The Spirit was present when Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist.

As soon as Jesus (the Son) was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God (the Holy Spirit) descending like a dove and lighting on him.
And a voice from heaven (the Father) said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased." Matthew 3:16-17 (NIV)
The Holy Spirit lives within each Christian and is sent by God at the request of Christ Jesus.

God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of the fact.
Exalted to the right hand of God, he has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and has poured out what you now see and hear. Acts 2:32-33 (NIV)
